Hard to believe that the girls are now 6!  After a very slow first few years, time now seems to be flying by.  As I think most people saw from Facebook, we celebrated the girls birthday with a Garbage Truck/Frozen themed friend birthday party on Sat, Jul 19.  I won the garbage track birthday at the McGilvra School auction and while the girls were excited about it, they have also become obsessed with Frozen so we decided to combine themes.  I must say it worked out really well.  Here are some pics of the party.

On the girls actual birthday, I took the day off and let the girls drive the agenda – watching Frozen in the morning and swimming in the afternoon.  Despite being a beautiful summer, their birthday fell on the one cold/rainy week, but we soldiered on and went swimming in the high sixty degree weather and drizzle.  We had a birthday dinner at home where Allan cooked all their favorite foods and I made a cake (I won’t quit my day job).

Happy, happy 6th to my amazing girls!  In the words of the great AA Milne:

When I was One,

I had just begun.

When I was Two,

I was nearly new.

When I was Three,

I was hardly Me.

When I was Four,

I was not much more.

When I was Five,

I was just alive.

But now I am Six, I’m as clever as clever.

So I think I’ll be six now for ever and ever.
