Happy 6th Birthday Lydia and Hadley!

July 22nd, 2014 by Eleanor · 1 Comment · Uncategorized

Hard to believe that the girls are now 6!  After a very slow first few years, time now seems to be flying by.  As I think most people saw from Facebook, we celebrated the girls birthday with a Garbage Truck/Frozen themed friend birthday party on Sat, Jul 19.  I won the garbage track birthday at […]

4th of July

July 4th, 2014 by Eleanor · 2 Comments · Uncategorized

We did our traditional 4th of July trip to the top of the Space Needle followed by our neighbor, Taylor’s grandparents 4th of July party in Burien.  The girls still love the Space Needle, so it’s nice to make a point of visiting the tourist trap once a year.  July 4 is a great time […]

Dr. Seuss Camp

July 2nd, 2014 by Eleanor · 2 Comments · Uncategorized

Summer is here and with it lots of camps for the girls as we decided to go the camp vs. nanny route for childcare this summer.  Lots of coordination, so we’ll see if we make the same choice next year, but so far so good.  We just wrapped up our first 2 weeks in Dr. […]

Lydia and Hadley’s teachers, Mr. Stypulkoski and Ms. Poole, put on a wonderful graduation celebration for all the kindergarteners complete with red carpet, caps signed by the whole class, songs, and an amazing video montage of the year.  We feel very lucky to be part of an incredible school community with such dedicated teachers.  Here […]

Lost tooth

May 30th, 2014 by Eleanor · 2 Comments · Uncategorized

Two wheels!

May 20th, 2014 by Eleanor · 2 Comments · Uncategorized

Among the many amazing things McGilvra does, is teach all kids how to ride a two-wheeler as part of PE.  The PE teacher is awesome (and a Girls on the Run coach!) and her motto is “This is not your Grandmother’s PE.”   Lydia and Hadley have been able to balance on 2 wheels for almost a year, […]

Preakness Party

May 17th, 2014 by Eleanor · 2 Comments · Uncategorized

We resumed our annual spring horse race tradition after taking a year off right after our move.  Life was a busy around the Kentucky Derby, our traditional excuse for a party, so we celebrated the Preakness instead.  Our new house (especially on nice days when we can use the backyard) is great for hosting!  Here […]

T-ball

May 15th, 2014 by Eleanor · 3 Comments · Uncategorized

Lydia and Hadley are playing T-ball this spring.  I have to say it is fairly hilarious to watch 4 and 5 year-olds learn the sport.  The coach and parents (who are all effectively assistant coaches) are great, so it’s been a fun experience.  The girls different personalities have really shined through in T-ball.  For example, […]
